Gas Chromatography
Gas Chromatography is an analytical method that allows the separation and analysis of substances in any mixture that are gaseous or easily vaporized. The main advantage of the method is that the analysis period is short and it has high sensitivity.
Chromatographic separation occurs by adsorption and desorption of substances between two phases (stationary and mobile phase) due to their physical and chemical properties.
Application areas of gas chromatography:
Chemistry
Biochemistry
Petrochemical
Forensic examinations
Pharmacology
Genetics
Food
The main parts of a gas chromatograph:
Electronic pressure control unit to regulate the flow of mobile phase into the device and the required pressure
Sample input module (Autosampler)
Heating section and columns
Detectors
Software and management system.
